Nalls Family Update
Nalls Family Update November 2020 This month began with our kids dancing and laughing outside in a short little rain followed by an amazing double rainbow. For the rest of the month we roasted as the temperatures climbed and everyone waited eagerly for the real rains to begin. In the rural areas people have plowed their fields and are ready to plant as soon as the rains come. Once the seeds are planted there will be weeding and protecting the growing crops from the monkeys, wild pigs, and birds. So much effort goes into having food for the coming year. Please pray for good rains this year. Pray for believers who are living out near their fields to be encouraged in their faith and to share faithfully with the lost in their area. Oh, how we long to see a physical and spiritual harvest in Tete Province. Our vacation was cancelled, once again, this month. We’ve given up on that idea for now. Chris and Katie were both able to meet with and teach various groups this month but the absolute highlight for us was our friend, Rafael, choosing to follow Christ. Rafael and his wife Helena (already a believer) lost their adolescent son, Alcides, to cancer last year. The church had gathered around their family to send Helena and Alcides to another city for cancer treatment, and then to help get his body back to Tete for burial after his death. Rafael was touched by the church’s help and love for their family and started keeping in close contact with several men from our church but still hadn’t put his faith in Jesus. With the approach of the year anniversary of his son’s death, Rafael wanted to know if they needed to do a religious ceremony (common here and believed to help the deceased’s spirit to be at peace). Chris and I went to talk to the couple about this from God’s word. We had a wonderful afternoon together with Helena sharing Alcides testimony of faith and how he expressed his faith in his final days. We shared the Gospel with Rafael again and he said he was ready to repent and believe. Chris and others are now meeting with him weekly. We praise the Lord that this brother, who was walking in darkness, can now walk in the light of Christ. Please pray for his discipleship and for the many others who have not heard the Good News or who have heard but not yet responded in repentance and faith. We are able to live here and share the Gospel because of your faithful prayers and giving. The majority of our support comes through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Would you consider giving for the first time or increasing your gift from previous years? You can give through your church or you can give a one time or monthly gift here. We made a family LMCO video that you can share with your church. Just email us if you would like it. We are so very thankful for you and for the privilege of serving as Christ’s ambasssadors here. In this coming month please pray for the Mufa water project which we hope will be finished next week with the mounting of the water pump and pouring of the concrete base. Pray for the two men from the project who expressed a desire to follow Christ. Pray for a strong church in Mufa that could reach the unreached communities in that district and beyond. In all things, ask that we will be faithful and make the most of every opportunity to share the Gospel and to teach. Finally, please pray for our families in the US as we always miss them at this time of year. This year’s pandemic makes us especially eager to see and hug these loved ones. We are so thankful for family who support us serving the Lord here even though it is a sacrifice for them. Jesus is worthy of every sacrifice he asks of us. Rejoicing, Chris and Katie Nalls Abigail, Emma Claire, and Daniel
